Ruby and Chad are a fun couple, who love to travel. For their elopement, they wanted to fly to Paris and have the most romantic adventure of their lives. Ruby wanted her elopement to be very light and airy, with lovely pastel colors and Parisian sunrise. But how to plan an event in France, if you live in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada? These two places are 15 hours of a plane flight away... Here is their story.

Ruby and Chad met in a bar in 2009
Ruby and Chad are born and live in Newfoundland, Canada. They love adventure - hiking, kayaking, and traveling the world. More than partners in love, they're best friends and an amazing team. Together, they explore new places and share unforgettable experiences. Their story is a journey of friendship and adventure.
WHAT RUBY AND CHAD WANTED
Ruby and Chad envisioned their elopement to be the most romantic day ever. They traveled to Paris for 4 days, in September 2023, and they wanted one day to be their elopement.
Ruby said, "We are ready to take an adventure of a lifetime."
Ruby and Chad described their dream day as personal and heartfelt.

OUR CHALLENGE
For the Do It Paris Way team, the challenge was to create a day that was both romantic and filled with new, amazing places, small surprises, and adventures.
The plan was to start with a quiet sunrise ceremony at a secret spot overlooking the Eiffel Tower, symbolizing their romantic commitment. Afterwards, we envisioned an adventurous day exploring the hidden gems of Paris. We wanted every moment to reflect the couple's love for each other and their passion for exploring new things.
PLANNING PROCESS
Ruby and Chad's 4-month elopement prep flew by with easy choices. Ruby reached out via our website contact form, we confirmed the dates and elopement package. Ruby and Chad went through our PDF for the Carousel package and decided on the ceremony and photoshoot places they wanted to have. Ruby sent her inspiration board to Helene for flowers and makeup. And finally, three days before the elopement, Tim created a wedding day timeline.
TIMELINE
Tim sent this timeline to our group chat with Ruby and Chad 2 days before the elopement:
5 AM - Makeup and hair artist Yana is coming to the hotel for bridal hair and make-up
6:40 AM - Yana helps Ruby to put her dress on
6:50 AM - Meanwhile Chad takes Uber to do a real first look and arrives to River Seine
7 AM - Pickup for Ruby by Tim
7:15 AM - First look
7:20 AM - Ceremony begins. Champagne.

What Ruby wanted and what we created
Ruby and her best friend went for dress shopping at a boutique. Among the racks, Ruby discovered a stunning Essence of Australia mermaid dress with a sexy open back. Surrounded by her friend's encouragement, they pieced together a bridal look that felt uniquely Ruby. As she stood in that gorgeous gown, emotions overwhelmed her.
Ruby worked with Yana, our in-house makeup artist included in the Carousel package. She wanted an updo and classic elegant makeup.
Now, let's take a look at bridal flowers. Ruby wanted an oversized bouquet, shaped like it was freshly picked from a garden. For colors, she wanted a muted pastel color palette: pastel peach, pale pink, and lavender, with lots of greenery.

Ruby looked stunning in her ivory mermaid dress, perfect for a Paris elopement. Her classic updo added an elegant touch, while the pastel bouquet brought out the romance. We are in love with Ruby's style!

FIRST LOOK
Ruby and Chad had chosen the heart of Paris for their secret elopement. The River Seine, with its timeless look, was the backdrop for their first look and ceremony. Chad, he's there first. Took an Uber. The water reflected the early morning light, perfect for photos. That's why all our elopements are planned for sunrise. The view and the light are so worth the early wakeup.
Ruby arrived with Tim. She walked towards Chad, her presence making the moment feel like a scene from a romantic movie. Chad's reaction was priceless, a mix of amazement and love.

RUBY AND CHAD ARE GETTING MARRIED
AT THE EIFFEL TOWER, RIVER SEINE
"We envision the most unforgettable view, with the iconic Eiffel Tower as our backdrop." - shared Ruby
Ruby and Chad wanted to focus on the ceremony, it was the most important part for the couple. Just the two of them, no guests.
Seconds before the ceremony began, Chad asked, "My love, are you ready for this epic moment?" Ruby could barely hold back her tears.
Their vows were full of love, and the moment felt very special.

After the ceremony, Ruby and Chad celebrated with champagne. Chad, holding his wife close, felt like the happiest man on the whole Earth.

PHOTOS
Ruby prepared her vision board with favorite poses so Tim had an idea of what they liked. For the shoot, the bride was all about spontaneity, saying, "We have seen your work and trust your creative vision completely. Amazing work."
Ruby shared her beautiful vision, saying, "My vision for an elopement photoshoot is a mix of everything. We want to have three locations, each representing relationship in some way. We're passionate about the love between us, so the first location should be intimate and romantic. As an adventurous couple, the second location should be EPIC iself, offering the most breathtaking view. Finally, the third location should be historic, symbolizing our love story, as we've been together for a long time."
A romantic and intimate location was chosen the Eiffel balcony L'avenue de Camoëns.
Adventurous and epic view was obviously the Louvre, and its majestic pyramids.
Pont des Arts is a historic place since it's the spot where Paris history itself started.
In the package that Ruby and Chad booked, we include 3 Paris locations after the ceremony and a total of 140 edited photos.
Tim: "In 6-8 days after the elopement, we send a sneak peek to confirm the editing and colors. And the final photoshoot result is ready in 30 business days."

Tim: "Preparation is key for an elopement photoshoot. I start by gathering inspiration from the couple, understanding their vision and preferences. We discuss poses, angles, and any specific shots they have in mind. By planning everything in advance, we ensure that the photoshoot is exactly what the bride envisioned."

Tim: "No worries if you never posed for the camera before! Almost non of my couples did. It is normal to feel scared of a camera. I will help you to feel confident and give you posing coaching."
Pont des Arts (Bridge of the Arts) is a wonderful photoshoot location and we highly recommend it. Especially for those couples who love cool unique places. This bridge isn't just a crossing over the river, it's a historic view offering the best panoramic views of Paris. Many couples overlook it thinking it's too simple, not realizing the magic it holds.
The Pont des Arts captures the essence of Parisian romance like no other place, especially with a soft sunrise.
This location is all about the unspoken beauty of history of Paris, away from the crowds.

AFTER THE ELOPEMENT
When the elopement was over, we dropped them off at their hotel and the couple had a quick nap. After that, Ruby and Chad told their family they were married and took an Uber to the tattoo salon. They had an appointment for a very meaningful ritual, wedding tattoos with their ceremony coordinates.

And to wrap up this wonderful day, Ruby and Chad enjoyed a romantic dinner during a River Seine night cruise. The food there is so good! The cruise is also a great experience because you get to play this awesome game of spotting and snapping pics of all the lit-up landmarks along the way. It's like a fun challenge!
